Career

October 2015 - Present

Invesco - Web developer

  • Developed a commercial React application which incorporates user account authentication and monetary subscriptions along with physics based spring animations. I was the sole front end developer on an agile "scrumban" team working with backend and devops developers.
  • Coded a Node REST API service for a centralised access point to data.
  • Assisted in creating a JS and SCSS front end pattern library which would help the company maintain a standardised brand when using web components across its many regional sites.
  • Aided in the migration of hundreds of websites to the new magnolia CMS which involved learning and implementing templating language.
  • Developed various custom web components for use on the AEM CMS system using VueJs.
  • Created a Wordpress WooCommerce "webshop" with a custom theme for clients to order branded items.

  • Maintain and enhance the main website according to new web designs.
  • Support and upgrade the company internal website.

Microtech Electronics - Software systems solutions engineer

  • Creating in-house software to make the company more technologically advanced and efficient. Support the software daily.
  • Querying work order data out of the various company databases and manipulate it in to various applications to aid workers with fulfilling orders.
  • Setting up, updating & maintaining various employee hardware, including Windows, different Linux Distributions, Raspberry PI's, etc.
  • Linux server, apache and SQL connections.
  • Setting up LAN's, including physically crimping & running RJ45 cables through complex roofing systems.
  • On occasion, when workload was heavy, helped out on the shop floor soldering, wire making, electronic testing, etc.
